Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno, School of Medicine is recruiting for a Grants & Projects Analyst 1 or Trainee for the Office of Medical Research. The Grants & Projects Analyst will assist the school in grant submissions (preparing budgets, assessing feasibility, liaising with Sponsored Projects), researching appropriate funding opportunities for our diverse faculty, and providing training to junior faculty, post docs, and students in the grant submission process. This position is similar to those in the other highly funded colleges on campus (Engineering, Science, Public Health).

This role will assist with complex proposals, grant development and will research potential funding opportunities and advertise them to appropriate departments/faculty. The Grants & Projects Analyst will also review supplemental proposals, contracts and awards.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional grants experience which includes duties such as assisting with writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant clients; and/or assisting with fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; OR two years of paraprofessional experience equivalent to an Administrative Assistant III or Accounting Assistant III in Nevada State service which included assisting in performing grant duties as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 31 (Entry, Step 01 $20.97/hr - Step 05 $24.81/hr)

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
