About the Opportunity:
The Administrative Resource Center at the College of Engineering is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their post award team.

Responsibilities:
This position provides financial and compliance analysis along with post-award administrative support to College principal investigators (PIs). This position oversees the financial planning and analysis of the PI's funding portfolio to assist PIs with expenditure and payroll forecasting. This position analyzes the policies and regulations that govern grants, contracts and internal awards to ensure the PI's portfolio remains in compliance. Additional responsibilities include providing monthly financial reports, resolving accounting and payroll issues, facilitating annual effort certifications, and reviewing financial reconciliations and working to resolve errors. The Financial Analyst will also be responsible for partnering with the PIs to submit all grant related administrative requests including no-cost extensions, rebudgets, advance accounts and closeouts in accordance with sponsor guidelines. The position will work closely with the central units to ensure accurate and timely submission of all requests to the sponsor. The Financial Analyst responsibilities also include the analysis of processes in order to improve workflow and work efficiencies; determine changes needed in order to avoid repetition of errors; and provide formal and informal training opportunities to PIs. The candidate will act as liaison between faculty, College, NU-RES, Finance and other University units as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree candidate required with a business or finance major preferred. Candidate should have up to 3 years of professional work experience in higher education and/or business setting. A strong customer service focus is required. Familiarity with overall federal grant administration is desired. Candidate must have accounting and finance knowledge and be able to work with budgets; have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and complete tasks for a number of principal investigators and administrators. A strong attention to detail, customer service oriented, initiative, flexibility and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team are required. Successful candidate must stay current with all new and existing regulatory requirements and institutional policies/procedures and keep faculty PIs and department leadership informed of changes. Due to the amount of personal and financial information involved, the Financial Analyst must have the aptitude for treating sensitive information related to salaries, department finances and science in a confidential and professional manner. Advanced experience with MS Office and Adobe Professional and the ability to learn new software programs and techniques quickly is essential.
