Reporting to the Executive Director of Grants, the Director of Project Support Services is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of a portfolio of projects ensuring consistency in project planning and delivery. The Director collaborates with Project Leads and Sponsors across all academic, workforce development, student support, and administrative areas, contributing to the development of plans and strategies including evaluating project feasibility, defining scope and requirements, determining resources, and setting and tracking outcomes in alignment with the College's strategic goals. The Director helps to foster a project management-oriented culture and mindset across the College.



Responsibilities:



  • Provides supervision and guidance to Project Support staff in project planning and execution.
  • Oversees a portfolio of concurrent initiatives assigned to the office for project support, and/or serves as the primary project manager for individual projects.
  • Provides leadership to ensure project schedules and deliverables are met in a collaborative environment.
  • Develops standard methodologies and took-kits to maximize efficiency and consistency in project management across the College.
  • Contributes to the initial project and resource planning.
  • Leads and advises project teams to successfully execute plans and achieve the outcomes within the prescribed timeline.
  • Collaborates with all stakeholders to build project ownership/buy-in, maintain project plans and mitigate risks.
  • Produces the related project management artifacts and processes to support project success.
  • Prepares executive level project reports and presents project performance updates to executives, senior management and stakeholders.
  • Regularly reviews and evaluates opportunities to improve project support services by implementing PMI best practices.


Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum five years related experience
  • PMP, PRINCE2, PgPM CBAP, or similar project management certification preferred
  • Experience in the evaluation, professional development and supervision of staff
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain high quality service levels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to lead change and provide strategic management
  • Excellent organizational, time management and execution skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse student, faculty and staff population


Additional Information:

Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00. Position is eligible for telework schedule--hybrid/remote.
