Job Description:
The Director of SUNY Grants for Research, Opportunity, and Workforce (GROW) Support Unit will lead the unit to provide direct support to all SUNY Campuses in identifying and securing grant and contract funding from federal, state, local and other sources to support research and scholarship, with a specific focus on activities that will expand economic mobility and create workforce opportunity for New Yorkers.

Job Duties:

Provide leadership and strategic vision to develop a grant strategy in high-demand and emerging sectors and support the
GROW Unit in identifying and securing grant funding across SUNY
Lead the GROW team of four to map major funding opportunities (Local, Federal and State appropriations) and ensure SUNY is preparing best-in-class proposals and applications to maximize research funding for all SUNY campuses
Build partnerships within System Administration (Provost's Office, Research Innovation & Economic Development, Office of Federal Relations) and across SUNY campuses and with industry and other partners such as the Research Foundation of SUNY and lead cross-campus efforts to pursue grants and contracts
Support the development of campus proposals with subject matter expertise, technical assistance, and capacity-building
Engage Faculty to build capacity to create competitive funding proposals by implementing professional development activities
Create, update and maintain templates, boilerplate information and online resources that support proposal development and submission processes
Develop a multi-year plan to offset Unit costs with share of revenue from grants awarded
Supervise three Opportunity Leads
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree
3-5 years grant writing or relevant experience
cRelationship expert
Ability to grow a new office

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree
Higher education experience

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $110,000 -$130,000
