Job Description

University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Grants & Projects Analyst 1 for the College of Science. Positions may or may not provide layoff rights and be contingent upon funding. As departments reach out for interviews, candidates will be notified if the specific position offers layoff rights.

The Grants and Projects Analyst 1 will assess, monitor, control and review award budgets and provide technical assistance to faculty researchers. The Grants and Projects Analyst 1 provides customer service and training to faculty and administrators related to post-award accounting procedures. Duties include account initiation, handling HR/compliance issues, processing budget revisions and project closeouts, reporting relevant data to department leadership, assisting with post-award accounting systems, budget forecasting, and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will serve as the post-award expert for the college. Consultation will include responding to questions, developing and offering training, and supporting PIs and support staff. The Analyst will also serve as a project manager on assigned projects.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and one year of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas as described above; OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Preferred Qualifications

The ability to interpret and disseminate information pertaining to multi-dimensional contracts.

Workday experience a plus.
