1) Providing assistance to School of Dentistry faculty researchers with processing of contract and grant submissions, primarily providing pre-award information and post-award from time to time. Research Administrator works, as necessary and appropriate with administrative staff and students with contract and grant processing by providing accurate and detailed information regarding Federal and private contract and grant submission requirements. Responsibilities include consulting, advising, motivating, guiding, assisting, budgeting and submitting applications to agencies for intramural and extramural funding. Research Administrator must provide accurate information regarding calculation of indirect cost. Proper liaison and submission of grant application to the Office of Grant and Contract (OCGA) is essential in this role for final grant submissions. Incumbent is required to provide timely and accurate reports on research activities of the School of Dentistry and further supports researchers by ensuring that contracts and grants are submitted by agency-imposed deadlines.
2) Gathering information for the School of Dentistry Annual Report and data in response to requests as they may arise from time to time; assist other Research Administrators with planning and logistics for School's Annual Research Day and other events; and other duties as may be assigned by supervisor from time to time.
3) Research Administrator will provide support to the Associate Dean of Research:
i) As part of the Research Office Administration Duties, the Research Administrator shall provide administrative and research support to Associate Dean of Research, including, providing grant administrative support (pre- and post-) for grants awarded to Dr. Kapila, assist other Research Administrators as needed with compiling and maintaining accurate contact information of all dental school-wide training grants, including the T90/R90 grant participants and members of School's research enterprise; coordinating meetings, taking minutes and following up on all action items from funded research projects and School research related meetings; coordinating travel arrangements for national and international travel for the Director, PIs and visitors to the labs; and tracking and reporting expenditures from the School-allocated funds.
ii) Provide cross coverage of the training grant office when the other Research Administrator is away.
